Raising funds

Ideas for Fundraising

Collection Boxes

The simplest way to fundraise is to place collection boxes in your local community, such as pubs and supermarkets. Always ask permission before you do so, and we can help by providing you with an authorization letter. The money raised from each collection box placed really does add up!

Organise a stand

Raising awareness at your local club, pub, place of work, supermarket or community event is a great way to let people know about our important work and is a wonderful opportunity to talk others who may not have heard of encephalitis and want to support us. Have nibbles and information to hand. A piece of cake is a great conversation starter!

Arrange a collection

Arrange a collection in a local supermarket. Most supermarkets will be happy to agree to a collection if you plan it well in advance.

Put on an event

You can organise anything from a coffee morning to a charity ball. Quiz nights, fancy dress parties, sponsored silences, raft races, sponsored haircuts, all will catch the attention of your local community!

Local organisations

If you're a member of a Ladies Group, Rotary Group or Golf Club (for example), ask if they will consider choosing us as their charity of the year. We can send you information to display and in some cases can pop along to your meeting to explain more about our work.

Take part in a local event

Take part in a run, cycle, bake-sale or personal challenge and get sponsored for it. Challenge yourself to achieve a personal goal – it will be worth the effort! Take a look at our events page for more ideas.
